DEFINITION OF CONTENT EDITING/NONFICTION: checking the content of a body of work for factual errors and inconsistencies. Evaluates the overall feel, flow, and pace of the work.

DEFINITION OF CONTENT EDITING/FICTION: checking for discrepancies in plot, character, or dialogue. Is the theme developed? Have the subplots been well integrated? How does the overall story feel? Does the writing flow? How is the pace? Is the dialogue believable?

CONTENT VS COPY EDITING : checking for grammar errors, sentence structure, word choices, missing words (in other words, changing or correcting the original text).

WHAT I DO: 80% CONTENT/20% COPY: I am by no means a technical writer, but if I see any glaring grammatical or technical errors I will either fix them or highlight them as I edit the content.
